Dr. Nguyen joined Oakland University William Beaumont School of Medicine in November 2020 as an assistant professor in the Department of Foundational 医疗 Studies. She also holds an assistant professor appointment in the Department of Surgery at Beaumont Health, 皇家橡树. Dr. Nguyen teaches gross anatomy and embryology to medical students and serves as Co-Program Director for the Surgical Simulation Fellowship (program accredited by the American College of Surgeons Accredited 教育 Institutes, ACS-AEI) at the Applebaum Simulation Learning Institute.
Dr. Nguyen earned her M.Sc. 和Ph值.D. in Clinical Anatomy from Western University in London, 安大略, Canada. She completed a postdoctoral fellowship in Electrical and Computer Engineering at Western University in London, 安大略, Canada followed by an ACS-AEI accredited Surgical Simulation Fellowship at Riverside Methodists Hospital in Columbus, 俄亥俄州.
In addition to teaching, Dr, Nguyen has a keen interest in education research. Her research interests include simulation and evaluation. Regarding simulation, she focuses on developing simulation-based training programs to improve learning, 应用程序, impact on patient-related outcomes. Regarding evaluation, she uses evidence-based evaluation methodologies to help educators demonstrate the impact and value of healthcare initiatives. Her research has been presented at several national and international conferences, including poster and platform presentations at Experimental Biology, Surgical Simulation Summit, International Meeting for Simulation in Healthcare, invited talks for Training Magazine International Society for Performance Improvement, Association for Talent Development. 此外, her work has gained national and international recognition by winning several Learning Excellence Awards from the Brandon Hall Group and Best Practice status by the ROI Institute.
Ngan is a member of the American Association of Anatomists, Society for Simulation in Healthcare, American College of Surgeons.
